The first port of call on this small trip out was the naval city of Portsmouth in the county of Hampshire. An easy to get too destination only taking a couple of hours from Milton keynes however you may wish to stay at a hotel near to destination so you can get more in over a couple of days. The place we had come to visit was the historic naval dockland easily signposted and with good car parking

The holiday started on a rainy day very early in the morning at Gatwick Airport, this combined with the prolonged exposure to the so called Brexit made us very glad to leave the country for a short while. We arrived at Naples airport and were greeted by glorious sunshine of 30 deg something that would not leave us for the next 6 days
